Negotiations over Russian gas price for Armenia under way now – official report
YEREVAN, December 20. /ARKA/. The office of Tigran Avinyan, Armenian acting vice premier, just issued a statement about negotiations over a price for Russian natural gas for Armenia.

A little earlier, 168.am website reported that Tigran Avinyan has received a letter from his Russian counterpart Dmitry Kozak and that the latter said in his letter that on January 1, 2019 the Russian gas price for Armenia will be increased from the present 150 to $215 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Vahan Hunanyan, Avinyan’s spokesman, posted on his Facebook page an official statement over the matter saying no any decision on the gas price has been made so far and there is no any fixed price.

“The Armenian government has not received any letter from Dmitry Kozak, there is no such a message.

Dmitry Kozak and Tigran Avinyan had a telephone conversation, during which they were discussing the mode of the negotiation process and further stages. Negotiations with our Russian partners over the matter are running in the atmosphere of mutual trust and mutual understanding, where no ultimatums were delivered and nothing like that could happen,” Avinyan’s office says in its statement.

Earlier, the Armenian energy ministry ruled out the gas price increase probability. Garegin Baghramyan, the minister, said that negotiations are being conducted to down the price. -0---
