New public park opens in downtown Yerevan

Tashir group of companies and the Yerevan Municipality opened last Saturday a public park located at the intersection of downtown Mashtots Avenue and Saryan Street after a large-scale reconstruction, estimated at $15 million.
YEREVAN, June 3. /ARKA/. Tashir group of companies and the Yerevan Municipality opened last Saturday a public park located at the intersection of downtown Mashtots Avenue and Saryan Street after a large-scale reconstruction, estimated at $15 million.
The total area of the park called "New Yerevan" is 20 thousand square meters. It has installed fountains with light effects, modern lighting system, video cameras, playgrounds and walking areas, a cafe and a restaurant. The territory is fully landscaped for the convenience of both adults and young citizens. About 10 thousand trees, bushes, flowers, and other plants were planted.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, members of the Council of Elders, First Vice-President of Tashir Group of Companies Narek Karapetyan, residents and guests of the capital.
The ceremony included a concert by local pop stars, a children bike ride and fireworks --0--
