STEPANAKERT, May 30. /ARKA/. The new Stepanakert Airport will most likely serve flights in summer of this year, the head of Nagorno-Karabagh’s Civil Aviation Department Tigran Gabrielyan told ARKA on Wednesday.
On Tuesday session, the government of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic approved the tariffs for the airport and flight maintenance, as well as flight regulations.
“Currently, we are occupied with compiling documents, airport and air-navigation service certificates. We are trying to form the legal structure, that will enable us to operate flights in compliance with the international standards, and make our legal acts and normative orders fully meet ICAO requirements and restrictions. We have almost completed all these processes,” Gabrielyan said.
According to him, flight tariffs have not been approved yet, however they are expected to be pretty available.
Flights will be made daily, and some time later- several flights per day depending on passenger flows, he added.
The new Stepanakert Airport will initially serve 100 passengers per hour, and passenger traffic will be carried out by Air Artsakh. Flights, to Yerevan and back, in the initial phase will be implemented every other day and in the future along with the growing demand their frequency will grow. The airport will be able to operate flights to other destinations as well. -0-
