A batch of new trolleybuses purchased for Yerevan are still stuck in Upper Lars (a checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border), the head of the transport department of the Yerevan Municipality Hayk Sargsyan said today.

YEREVAN, May 2. /ARKA/. A batch of new trolleybuses purchased for Yerevan are still stuck in Upper Lars (a checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border), the head of the transport department of the Yerevan Municipality Hayk Sargsyan said today.

"We are waiting for a speedy solution to the issue. We are in constant contact with the carrier company chosen to bring the trolleybuses to Armenia," Sargsyan said Tuesday at a meeting of the capital's Council of Elders. He said the carrier assured that the trolleybuses will be in Yerevan later this week.

The trolleybuses have been delayed at Upper Lars checkpoint because of their dimensions, he added. Earlier it was announced that 165 new buses and 30 trolleybuses will be added to the public transportation fleet of Yerevan by the end of the year. -0-
