Owner of Artmoda and Artshoes stores accused of failing to pay taxes worth 100 million drams

YEREVAN, November 10. /ARKA/. The owner of a company in Yerevan that sold shoes through Artmoda and Artshoes stores, identified by his initials V.D., has pleaded guilty to 100 million dram tax evasion, the Armenian Investigative Committee said.

It said as part of the preliminary investigation of the criminal case V.D restored 55 million drams.

V.D. was said to have concealed taxable sales of goods from 2020 to February 2023. In particular, buyers were not provided with cash register receipts, and false data were entered into tax declarations.

A criminal prosecution was initiated against V.D. and he was charged with tax evasion in especially large amounts.

V.D. pleaded guilty, submitted corrected tax declarations to the tax authority and undertook to pay about 100 million drams of taxes unpaid in the past. --0--
