YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. Armenia’s road police said today that they have replaced the three-color operation mode of traffic lights installed on the streets of Amiryan, Nalbandyan and on Tigran Mets Avenue where they intersect with the Republican Square with the yellow blinking mode.
The police said the change is aimed at avoiding congestion of vehicles and traffic jams on the streets adjacent to the Republic Square.
"In order to avoid accidents, we urge drivers of vehicles to be attentive and give way to pedestrians crossing the road," the police said. The police recalled that another change was enforced on June 11 on the Republic Square allowing vehicles moving along the circle area of the square to enter the above-mentioned streets first. -0-
