Pre-flight inspection of aircraft to be tightened in Armenia

YEREVAN, January 30. /ARKA/. The Armenian government plans to tighten pre-flight inspection of aircraft at the country's airports, according to a draft law published on the e-draft.am, the single platform of electronic acts.

According to the draft law, the national civil aviation security program will be revised, bringing it into line with current international standards.

In particular, new rules that will help raise awareness of aviation security, as well as improve control systems will be established.

A new procedure will be created, according to which foreign airlines operating flights, as well as personnel responsible for quality control, will undergo mandatory professional training to ensure more effective inspections and audits.

The process of notifying ICAO and relevant states of any cases of unlawful interference will become more structured and faster.

Pre-flight security control of aircraft will become stricter, which will prevent hazardous substances and devices from getting on the airliner. Entry passes will be issued according to new standards, and citizens will undergo thorough checks (including background checks) when entering special controlled areas of airports.

Airport security requirements for small aircraft, helipads, and private pilot screening procedures will be regulated.

Airports will be equipped with the latest security technologies, including multi-level baggage screening systems.

Airport and aviation-related employees will be required to undergo special training to meet international aviation security requirements.

“These changes are aimed at increasing the level of aviation security, bringing the Armenian aviation sector into line with international standards, and creating a more reliable and safe aviation environment,” the daft law says.
