Real estate transactions in January surge by 42 percent in Armenia

A total of 9,140 real estate transactions were reported in Armenia in January 2018, almost by 42% more than in the same time span last year, according to the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre.
YEREVAN, March 13. /ARKA/. A total of 9,140 real estate transactions were reported in Armenia in January 2018, almost by 42% more than in the same time span last year, according to the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre.
During the reporting period, the largest number of transactions was registered in Yerevan - 34.6% of the total number, while Vayots Dzor province accounted for the smallest number - 2.1%. Kotayk province accounted for 11% of all transactions, Ararat province for 8.8%, Armavir – for 8%, Gegharkunik – for 7.7%, Lori – for 7.1%, Aragatsotn – for 6.1%, Shirak – for 5.2%, Tavush – for 4.8%, and Syunik – for 4.5%.
According to the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre. 41.3% of the registered real estate transactions were home sales and purchase and 12.4% were initial registration of real estate. Also 16% were inheritance transactions, 13.6% were mortgage transactions, 8.2% were real estate lease transactions and 8.5% were other state registration.
The average market price of a square meter of living space in apartment buildings in Yerevan in January 2018 grew by 1.6% from 2017 December. However, when compared to 2017 January the price was down by 0.9%.
The highest prices were registered in the capital's administrative district Kentron - 485,000 drams per square meter, and the lowest - in the district of Nubarashen – 155,300 drams.
The average price of a square meter of living space in multi-apartment buildings outside Yerevan grew by 0.1%, but dropped by 6.5% from the year before. The highest price was in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor -292,400 drams and the lowest – 8,000 drams in Dastakert and Shamlug communities in Syunik and Lori provinces respectively.
