Some 234 cases of weapons detection recorded last year

Hovhannes Khangeldyan, the head of the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency, told a news conference today that some 234 cases of detection of weapons and ammunition were recorded last year, by 62 cases more than in the previous year.

Hovhannes Khangeldyan, the head of the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency, told a news conference today that some 234 cases of detection of weapons and ammunition were recorded last year, by 62 cases more than in the previous year.
According to him, 125 cases (68 weapons and 57 ammunition) were recorded in the capital Yerevan. It was followed by Aragatsotn region with 42 cases.
He said that most of the weapons were discovered after the citizens’ calls. He added that the bulk were old rusted weapons kept in earth for a long time or mines left over after war exercises. -0-
