Temperatures in Armenia to drop by 10-12 degrees

YEREVAN, April 8. /ARKA/ Warm air currents that have arrived in Armenia from the Arabian Peninsula have caused an abnormally high temperature background across the country, according to the National Weather Service.
It said today that in the first ten days of April such high temperatures in the country were last recorded in 1975.
The highest temperatures on April 7 were recorded in Meghri - 29 degrees, in the Ararat Valley - up to 26 degrees, however, according to forecasts, today and tomorrow in the Syunik valleys the temperatures will rise to 30-32 degrees, and to 27-29 degrees in the Ararat valley and in capital Yerevan, by 8-10 degrees higher than the climatic norm.
The wave of warm air in Armenia will retreat from April 10 to give way to a cyclone that is approaching from the Black Sea region.
So, on April 10-14, in most parts of the country, especially in the afternoon, short-term thunderstorms are expected. During a thunderstorm, the wind speed will reach 20-25 meters per second.
A decrease in air temperature will begin on April 10, and in the period from April 10-13 throughout the country, the temperatures will drop by 10-12 degrees, approaching the climatic norm. -0-
