Ten-day census begins in Armenia
YEREVAN, Oct. 13. /ARKA/. A ten-day census began in Armenia on Thursday, Armenpress news agency reported. This is the third census since Armenia gained independence in 1991. The previous censuses were conducted in 2001 and 2011.
This year a combined method will be used for the census for the first time. The main important figures will be obtained from the administrative register: ethnicity, citizenship, age.
There will be a sample survey of 25% of the population. That is, the enumerator will visit every 4th household in each locality and fill out an electronic questionnaire using a tablet. For the first time the census will be conducted electronically.
Data will also be collected on people's education, health, service, and living conditions. There will be a total of 39 basic questions and 5 questions about household living conditions. Census results will be available in 1 year. -0-
