Winter school break in Armenia was prolonged today for another week, until January 25, because of a swine flu outbreak, Armenian Education Minister Armen Ashotyan reported on his official page in Facebook.
YEREVAN, January 14. /ARKA/. Winter school break in Armenia was prolonged today for another week, until January 25, because of a swine flu outbreak, Armenian Education Minister Armen Ashotyan reported on his official page in Facebook.
The school break was prolonged earlier from January 11 to 18 at the health ministry's request.
Today's prolongation that announced at Health Minister Armen Muradyan's request does not apply to universities.
Ashotyan said that the missed lessons will be conducted before the end of the academic year.
According to the health ministry, there are some 1000 people diagnosed with flu and acute respiratory diseases in Armenian hospitals, and 11 were killed by H1N1 virus. --0----
