Yerevan city hall investigates issues bus passengers face when paying
YEREVAN, November 11. /ARKA/. Issues faced by city bus passengers when paying for their fares were raised, at a meeting at Yerevan City Hall.
Since November 1, payment on MAN, ZhongTong, and GazelCity buses is only possible with a 100-dram coin or a QR code (via the app or a paper printout from the terminal). However, there have been numerous complaints about malfunctions with the bus validators and the mobile app, and 100-dram coins have nearly disappeared from circulation (they can now be bought offhand at a speculative price of 150-200 drams)."
The issues mainly arose with small change, validators, and drivers who allowed passengers to travel without paying the fare," said Aram Gyulzadyan, head of the Yerevan Municipality's Public Order Protection Service, at a meeting.
According to him, all information about the identified problems was forwarded to Yerevan Bus CJSC for prompt resolution.
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan has ordered the development of a project that will enable employees of the Public Order Protection Service at City Hall to carry out proper administration. -0-
