The French-run Yerevan Jur company said Monday it provides 73% of subscribers with 24-hour water supply.
YEREVAN, December 17. /ARKA/. The French-run Yerevan Jur company said Monday it provides 73% of subscribers with 24-hour water supply.
“The construction and water distribution works give positive results. Most important indicators are getting better month-over-month, and we post progress in key directions,” according to the source.
At present, 24% of Yerevan’s residents have 17-23.5-hour water supply, and 3%- 12-17-hour water supply. In November, 95.8%-duration water supply in Yerevan was reported, whereas the company was obliged to post maximum 95% duration within its contract in 2016.
Water discharge in the system slashed 3.3% or 306 liters/ sec in November from a year earlier, and electricity consumption dropped 38% within the same period.
Yerevan Jur (Yerevan Water) is run by French Veolia Generale des Eaux that won an international tender announced by World Bank to take up a long-term management of the Yerevan network in 2006. It pledged to upgrade the obsolete network and ensure 24-hour water supplies to households
The company manages also drinking and waste water removal systems in Ararat, Aragatsotn and Kotayk provinces. Yerevan Jur has 339,370 customers. The company produces 370 million cubic meters of drinking water a year and manages 2,120 km of water pipelines. -0-
