Armenian sambo wrestlers claim 6 medals at World Championships in Astana

Armenian athletes won 2 silver and 4 bronze medals at the World Sambo Championships held in Astana from November 8-10, according to the press service of Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
YEREVAN, November 11. /ARKA/. Armenian athletes won 2 silver and 4 bronze medals at the World Sambo Championships held in Astana from November 8-10, according to the press service of Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
Arsen Khanjyan (98 kg) and Mais Nersisyan (64 kg, combat sambo) became vice-champions as part of the Armenian national team.
The bronze medalists of the World Championship in combat sambo among men were Hamlet Sukiasyan (58 kg) and Arman Avanesyan (98 kg), while in sport sambo among women, Anna Mkrtchyan (80 kg).
The bronze was also claimed by David Hovsepyan (58 kg), forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, who competed under the flag of the International Sambo Federation. -0-
