Europe team chess championship – Armenia vs Bulgaria (live)

Armenia’s national chess team starts today its race in the Europe Team Chess Championship in Warsaw.  In the first game, the Armenian national will face the Bulgarian.

YEREVAN, November 8. /ARKA/. Armenia’s national chess team starts today its race in the Europe Team Chess Championship in Warsaw.  In the first game, the Armenian national will face the Bulgarian.  

Thirty seven countries are competing in the championship, which will last until November 17. 
The first chessboard – Veselin Topalov (white) versus Levon Aronyan, the second chessboard - Sergey Movsisyan (white) vs Krasimir Rusev, the third chessboard – Vladimir Petkov (white) vs Gabriel Sargsyan and the fourth chessboard – Tigran Petrosyan (white) vs Peter Arnoudov. 

Armenian chess players are three-time winners in world chess Olympiads in Turin in 2006, in Dresden in 2008 and in Istanbul in 2012. They are also the acting world champions.  

Besides, the Armenian national team won a bronze medal in Olympiads in 1992, 2002, 2004. It was the winner of the 1999 Europe Championship, and pulled off silver and bronze in the 2007 and 1997 Europe championships and bronze in the 1997, 2001 and 2005 world championships. ---0----
