YEREVAN, July 1, /ARKA/. The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has published its ranking of top 100 players for July 2022.

Gabriel Sargsyan (37th, rating 2698), Hayk M. Martirosyan (73rd, 2672) and Shant Sargsyan (87th, 2661) represent Armenia in the men's top 100.

The ranking of top 100 women players has Elina Danielyan from Armenia, who is current winner of the European Individual Championship (30th, rating 2441), and Anna M. Sargsyan (71st, 2378).

There are two Armenian chess players in the junior chess top 100: Artur Davtyan (37th, rating 2520) and Mamikon Gharibyan (60th, rating 2490), and Mariam Mkrtchyan (31st, rating 2285) is among top 100 junior female players.

The ranking of the Chess Federation of Armenia for July is 2637 (9th place versus 8th place a month earlier).

Magnus Carlsen of Norway continues to lead the world ranking list with rating 2864. Number two on the list is Ding Liren and number 3 is Alireza Firouzja, still the best youngster on the planet. Levon Aronyan, who used to represent Armenia is 5th.-0-
