Henrikh Mkhitaryan said he will no longer play for Armenia and promised to "tell everything"
YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/. Former Armenian national team captain and Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not going to return to the national team.
"I don't regret my decision. I always made my decisions with a cool head and a calm heart," he said in an interview with Proffootball.am.
Admitting that the decision to leave the national team was not easy for him, the footballer noted that it was better "to end his career one step early than two steps later."
"This is the case when I realized the time had come. I'll speak in detail probably at the end of my career. Despite the fact that everyone is probably interested now, but it would be better if we talk about it later - I will talk about everything, tell you everything," he said.
Mkhitaryan wished the Armenian national team good luck and success in their next matches, especially against Turkey.
"It's time for the young generation to take responsibility and lead the national team. The last few games were difficult, but with the arrival of the new coach, I hope everything will work out and our guys will perform with great honor and responsibility," he said.
Mkhitaryan won the German Super Cup with Borussia Dortmund, the Football League Cup, the English Super Cup and the Europa League with Manchester United.
The midfielder is also the top scorer in the history of the Armenian national team (32 goals).
Mkhitaryan moved to Inter Milan on a free agent basis from July 1, 2022. It was previously reported that the player signed a two-year contract with the club with a salary of 3.5 million euros per year. Prior to that, Mkhitaryan played for Roma for three years. -0-
