YEREVAN, March 29, /ARKA/. Internet services in Armenia were disrupted Monday evening following damages on two cables in Georgia bringing the world web to Armenia. Internet connection was restored after midnight after Georgia repaired the damages.

On Monday all three wholesale Internet providers in Armenia- ArmenTel,
FiberNet Communication and GNC-Alfa- were unable to provide services at their usual speed and had to use the capacities of two reserve cables.

The Georgian side did not say
where and how the cables were damaged. Armenia is connected with Internet via Georgia and Iran. Frequent damages in Georgia slow down or deprive users in Armenia of Internet. Thus, in 2010 eight damages were reported on Internet cables in Georgia during two months.-0-
