No monopoly in Armenia’s market of medicines

There is no monopoly in Armenia's market of medicines, health minister Armen Muradyan told reporters today.
YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. There is no monopoly in Armenia's market of medicines, health minister Armen Muradyan told reporters today.
According to him, four companies, namely Vaga Pharm, Natali Pharm, Alfa Farm and Aesculap, hold approximately 70% of the market of medicines and none of them has a dominant position.
He said in parallel with the price monitoring the authorities supervise also carefully the quality of medicines.
According to the National Center for Drug Expertise, the annual market of medicines in Armenia is worth about $95 million. Locally-manufactured medicines account for about 10% of the market. The largest portion of imported drugs, from 55% to 60% comes from Europe, about 20-25% from Russia and 10% from India. -0-
