In March 2011 Armenian payment system ArCa has issued 31617 plastic cards in March 2011 which is by 11.1% more than in March 2010.
YEREVAN, April 18. /ARKA/. In March 2011 Armenian payment system ArCa has issued 31617 plastic cards in March 2011 which is by 11.1% more than in March 2010.
In March 2011 the system issued 11554 ArCa cards (increase compared with March of the last year was 31.3%), 10218 Visa cards (increase – 35.9%) and 9845 cards of the system MasterCard which is less by 18.8% than the indicator of March 2010.
Total number of active cards which can carry out transactions in march exceeded 609 thousand providing 26.2% growth vs. March 2010.
The number of Cards by which transactions were made was 409719 in the reporting period vs. 322732 in the same period of the last year, of which 241398 – ArCa cards (increase – 17.8%), 108286 – Visa cards (increase – 43.3%) and 60035 - MasterCards (increase – 42%).
Weighted average of the plastic cards by which transactions were made was 67% by all types of cards.
CJSC “Armenian Card” was established on March 16, 2000 as a unified national system of payments by payment cards. Today 19 of 21 commercial banks of Armenia participate in the system ArCa by any status.
In the frames of the national system various products on the basis of the cards ArCa - ArCa Debit, ArCa Classic, ArCa Gold, ArCa Business, ArCa Affinity, ArCa Co-branded, ArCa Platinum and pension cards ArCa are implemented.
The company is a member of international payment system
MasterCard Europe and also implements processing of cards of the system VISA and American Express (Third Party Processor). ($1 – 376.48 drams). --0—
