Armenia's anti-trust body penalizes emergency ministry for breach of law
YEREVAN, June 18. /ARKA/. Armenia's anti-trust agency has warned today the Ministry of Emergency Situations for conducting illegal anti-competitive activity and has also penalized the SOS Systems LLC to the tune of 20,887,068 drams for abuse of dominating position.

According to the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC), in 2012 the Ministry of Emergencies concluded an agreement with this company, providing it with exclusive right to install, maintain and monitor automatic fire alarm systems in various facilities.

The anti-trust agency said the SOS Systems LLC abused its dominant position by setting or applying unjustified discriminatory prices or discriminatory conditions in relation to other business entities, establishing and applying unreasonably high priced for the goods and services.

The ministry was given three months to eliminate the recorded violation of the law by ensuring the accessibility of business entities to the services on a competitive basis. ($1 - 480.33 dram) -0-
