Armenia to close loophole allowing entrepreneurs to operate despite violations
YEREVAN, September 19/ARKA/. Armenian government, at a meeting on Thursday, decided to amend the legislation to finally resolve this issue.
According to Petros Martirosyan, head of the Bureau for Coordination of Work of Inspection Bodies, under the current legislation, if the supervisory body decides to prohibit operation of a company, the entrepreneur can file a complaint in court and, while the complaint is being considered continue working without eliminating the violations noted creating threats to the safety and lives of citizens.
The proposed amendments stipulate that decisions and acts of the Inspectorate for Urban Development, technical and fire safety must be implemented immediately. -0-
