YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said that Yerevan is interested in further participation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and in the full operation of the unification mechanisms provided for by the agreement.

“We are interested in our participation in the Eurasian Economic Union. We are interested in ensuring that the mechanisms provided for by the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union work as planned. And I think that this is in the interests of the further development of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Pashinyan said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on the sidelines of the international industrial exhibition “Innoprom-2026” in Yekaterinburg.

He also expressed hope that as a result of the negotiations it will be possible to resolve specific issues on the bilateral agenda.

“We are in a constructive mood to discuss and clarify all the issues, all the nuances. I think that as a result of today’s negotiations we will be able to resolve specific issues,” said the Prime Minister of Armenia.

According to him, the meeting with his Russian colleague was a good opportunity to discuss the entire range of the bilateral agenda after the parliamentary elections held in Armenia.

“This meeting is a very good occasion to discuss the entire range of the agenda of our relations and, as they say, to compare notes,” the Prime Minister said.

Pashinyan noted that recently certain problematic issues have arisen in relations between the two countries, which the parties intend to discuss.

“Some problematic issues have emerged recently, and, of course, I hope that we will discuss and resolve these issues,” he emphasized.

At the same time, the head of the Armenian government stated that both before and after the elections, Yerevan is committed to further developing relations with Russia.

On restrictions on products from Armenia to the Russian Federation

Since June 12, 2026, Russia has limited the import of all regulated products to origin and departure from Armenia, as well as its transit through the Russian Federation to the EAEU member states. Rosselkhoznadzor restrictions included, in particular, Jermuk mineral water, alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, herbs, as well as fish and fish products.

The department cited “systematic identification of quarantine objects” in plant products and flowers from Armenia as the reason. It is noted that the ban will remain in effect until a specific algorithm is developed to ensure the safety and traceability of shipped goods.
