Food prices in Armenia increased by 8.6% year-on-year in June and decreased by 1.5% month-on-month

Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices increased by 8.6% in June 2026 compared to June 2025, and decreased by 1.5% compared to May of this year, according to data from the Statistical Committee.
YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices increased by 8.6% in June 2026 compared to June 2025, and decreased by 1.5% compared to May of this year, according to data from the Statistical Committee.
Bread and cereal prices increased by 2.8% year-on-year in June and by 0.2% month-on-month. At the same time, rice prices fell by 3.7% compared to June last year and by 0.7% compared to May, wheat groats increased by 10.4% and 0.7%, respectively, buckwheat by 9.2% and 0.3%, flour by 2.5% with a monthly increase of 0.1%, bread by 2.2% and 0.3%, respectively, pasta by 7.2% with a monthly decrease of 0.2%. At the same time, lobi fell in price by 2.8% year-on-year and 1.3% month-on-month, lentils by 3.3% and 0.9%, respectively, and peas rose in price by 1.1% year-on-year and fell by 0.3% month-on-month. Meat prices in June increased by 12.5% year-on-year and by 0.5% compared to May.
Beef prices increased by 23.4% year-on-year and by 0.7% month-on-month, pork prices increased by 7.8% and 0.2% month-on-month, mutton and lamb prices increased by 16.4% and 1.3%, respectively, and poultry (chicken) prices increased by 5.2%, with no monthly price changes.
Fish and seafood prices in June 2026 increased by 1.3% compared to June 2025 and decreased by 1.8% compared to May. Fresh trout prices decreased by 1.6% year-on-year and 2.1% month-on-month. Prices in the "Dairy Products, Cheese, and Eggs" category increased by 12.5% year-on-year in June, and decreased by 0.6% month-on-month. Meanwhile, pasteurized milk increased by 8.3% year-on-year, with no monthly change. Sour cream increased by 9.3% and 0.3% month-on-month. Cottage cheese prices increased by 7.4% and 0.2% month-on-month.
Cheese increased by 7.2%, with a monthly decrease of 0.5%. Eggs increased by 29.9% year-on-year and decreased by 1.7% month-on-month.
Products in the "Oils and Fats" category increased by 4.6% year-on-year, and decreased by 1.3% compared to May. Meanwhile, butter prices increased by 2% but decreased by 3% month-on-month, while sunflower oil prices increased by 10.2% and 0.2%, respectively.
Fruit prices in June increased by 16.8% year-on-year and 11% month-on-month.
In the "Vegetables" category, prices increased by 3.1% year-on-year and decreased by 15.8% compared to May.
In the "Sugar, Fruit Puree, Honey, Syrups, Chocolate, and Sugar Confectionery" category, prices increased by 3.4% year-on-year in June and decreased by 0.1% month-on-month. Sugar and granulated sugar prices decreased by 0.6% compared to June last year, remaining unchanged month-on-month. Chocolate prices increased by 4.4% year-on-year and 0.7% month-on-month. In the "Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa" category, prices increased by 5.8% in June this year compared to June last year, and decreased by 0.1% compared to May. Coffee increased in price by 5.6% year-on-year and decreased by 0.1% month-on-month, while cocoa increased in price by 19.3% and decreased by 0.6%, respectively.
Prices for mineral or spring water, as well as bottled drinking water, increased by 3.8% year-on-year and by 0.5% month-on-month in June.
Of alcoholic beverages, vodka increased in price by 10.7% year-on-year and by 0.6% month-on-month in June, wine by 1.9% and 0.2%, respectively, and beer by 4.8% year-on-year and 0.5% month-on-month. In June, tobacco prices increased by 6.9% year-on-year, and by 0.2% month-on-month.
Food products not included in other groups increased in price by 3.5% in June 2026 compared to June 2025, and by 0.1% compared to May of this year.
Meanwhile, in the non-food market, prices increased by 2.3% in June 2026 compared to June 2025, and decreased by 0.2% compared to May. Service tariffs increased by 2.4% year-on-year and by 0.4% month-on-month.
In Armenia, inflation in June 2026 compared to June 2025 was 5.1%, while deflation was 0.5% compared to May of this year.
