Vedi Reservoir, with a capacity of 29 million cubic meters, has been built in Armenia: the Prime Minister inspected the work
YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the recently completed Vedi Reservoir in the Ararat Province, the government press service reported.

The total cost of the program was €90 million, and the reservoir's capacity is 29 million cubic meters.

The reservoir was built on the right bank of the Vedi River. During the first phase, 1.6 million cubic meters of water have already been accumulated by transporting water from the Vedi and Khosrov rivers through pipelines.

The reservoir will ensure uninterrupted and reliable irrigation of approximately 3,220 hectares of land in 11 settlements in the Ararat Valley.

The transition from mechanical to gravity irrigation will save approximately 19 million kWh of electricity annually. Irrigation network losses are expected to be reduced by 20–25%.

The project was co-financed by the Armenian government and the French Development Agency.
