YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. The opposition Armenia bloc declared that parliamentary mandates will become a tool of resistance, announcing its continuation of the struggle following the Constitutional Court's decision.

The statement noted that in making its decision to obtain parliamentary mandates, the Armenia bloc was and will be guided by the need to develop a unified opposition position and the logic of continuing the struggle, having previously discussed all possible scenarios and risks with public and professional circles.

"For us, parliamentary status is not a position or a privilege. It is an additional tool, a legal and political mechanism, and an opportunity to resist the authorities on a daily basis. Therefore, we believe that in the upcoming difficult struggle, we are obligated to use all possible means to counter the authorities' anti-state agenda. A parliamentary mandate is a weapon, and voluntarily renouncing it would be an irresponsible step toward our state and our voters," the statement emphasized. The bloc stated that all its actions in the National Assembly will be based on the key agenda set out in the joint statement of the opposition forces that appealed to the Constitutional Court: preventing imposed changes to the Constitution of Armenia, protecting the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, protecting the rights of political prisoners and prisoners of war, and removing the current ruling regime from power.

The Armenia bloc also emphasized that the Constitutional Court's decision is not the end of the struggle, but the beginning of a new, more organized phase.

"Recognizing its responsibility to the Motherland and its voters, the Armenia bloc will send an ideological and unwavering political team to parliament, which, being on the front lines of political resistance, is ready to assume its share of responsibility," the statement read.

On July 5, the Strong Armenia opposition bloc also announced its decision to seek parliamentary mandates and work in parliament, while maintaining its commitment to street political struggle.

On the Constitutional Court's decision

On July 4, after reviewing petitions from seven political forces, the Constitutional Court upheld the June 14, 2026, decision of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia on the "results of the regular elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia held on June 7, 2026." The CEC decision was challenged by seven political forces: the Strong Armenia and Armenia blocs, the Wings of Unity, Democracy, Law, Discipline (DLD), Prosperous Armenia, the Alliance of Democracy Defenders for the Republic, and the reformist New Force Party.

According to a statement by CEC Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan, three political forces will be represented in the 9th National Assembly: the ruling Civil Contract Party (64 deputies), the Strong Armenia bloc (29 deputies), and the Armenia bloc (12 deputies).
