Armenian consumer prices grow by 2.6 percent in January

Armenian consumer prices in January 2017 increased by 2.6% when compared to December 2016, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).
YEREVAN, February 3. /ARKA/. Armenian consumer prices in January 2017 increased by 2.6% when compared to December 2016, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).
The growth was prompted by a 7.8% inflation of food products. During the reporting period, prices for foodstuff (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) increased by 6.7%, while non-food prices and services decreased by 0.6% and 0.7% respectively, according to NSS.
Consumer prices in 2017 January were 0.6% down year-on-year. Food prices (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) grew by 1.7%, non-food prices fell by 3.5% and services fell by 1.8%. According to the National Statistical Service, in 2016 the average annual deflation was 1.4%. -0-
