Number of tourists visiting Armenia in first quarter increased by 17.2%, reaching 453,100

The number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia in January-March 2026 amounted to 453,138, compared to 386,741 for the same period in 2025, an increase of 17.2%, according to the Statistical Committee.

YEREVAN, May 13. /ARKA/. The number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia in January-March 2026 amounted to 453,138, compared to 386,741 for the same period in 2025, an increase of 17.2%, according to the Statistical Committee.

The report notes that 69 tourists arrived from an unspecified country, and 10 from Azerbaijan.

Of the tourists who visited Armenia in the first quarter, 186,051 were women and 267,087 were men. The largest number of tourists visiting the country were aged 36-63 (236,555), while the smallest number were aged 16-17 (6,020).

The largest number of tourists in Armenia came from Russia (178,321, or 39.4% of the total, a 23.8% increase compared to the first quarter of last year), Georgia (67,131, or 14.8%, a 12.6% increase), and Iran (34,960, or 7.7%, a 1.7% increase).

In addition, in January-March of this year, Armenia was also visited by citizens of Ukraine (6,775), China (6,210), Germany (5,984), the United States (5,608), India (5,083), France (4,752), Italy (4,322), the Philippines (3,352 people), Belarus (3,175), Turkey (3,025), Cyprus (2,381), Romania (2,345), the Netherlands (2,312), Kazakhstan (2,224), the United Kingdom (1,970), Greece (1,621), Belgium (1,539), Poland (1,405), the UAE (1,371), Spain (1,309), the Czech Republic (1,293), Egypt (1,256), and Moldova (1,093).

The smallest number of tourists – one person each – came from Andorra, Benin, Botswana, Gambia, Grenada, Timor-Leste, Liberia, Libya, Honduras, Jamaica, Madagascar, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Senegal, and Togo.

Two people each arrived from Angola, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Seychelles, Saint Lucia, Suriname, the Vatican, and Fiji.

Three people each arrived in Armenia from Burkina Faso, Guatemala, Eritrea, Laos, Paraguay, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, and Tanzania.

At the same time, it is reported that 336,696 tourists left the country in the first quarter of 2026, compared to 363,668 in the same period of 2025 (a decline of 7.4%).
