The number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia from January to June 2026 amounted to 1,041,598, compared to 907,135 for the same period in 2025, an increase of 14.8%.
YEREVAN, August 7. /ARKA/. The number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia from January to June 2026 amounted to 1,041,598, compared to 907,135 for the same period in 2025, an increase of 14.8%. This was reported by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
Of the tourists who visited Armenia in January-June, 443,930 were women and 597,668 were men. The largest number of tourists visiting the country were aged 36-63 (544,984), while the smallest number were aged 16-17 (12,433). The report notes that 164 tourists arrived from unknown countries, and 13 from Azerbaijan.
The largest number of tourists in Armenia came from Russia (416,743, or 40% of the total, a 23.3% increase compared to the first quarter of last year), Georgia (150,322, or 14.4%, a 17.2% increase), and Iran (81,180, or 7.8%, a 4% increase). In addition, in January-June of this year, Armenia was also visited by citizens from China (17,733), Germany (17,487), the United States (16,399), Ukraine (15,725), France (13,709), Italy (12,336), India (9,105), Belarus (8,149), Turkey (7,262), the Netherlands (6,122), the United Kingdom (6,018), Poland (5,817), Kazakhstan (5,750), Cyprus (5,674), the Republic of Korea (5,275), Romania (4,987), Spain (4,762), the Philippines (4,363 people), Belgium (4,116), the Czech Republic (3,917), Greece (3,718), Austria (2,741), Israel (2,467), Moldova (2,314), Sweden (2,199) and Slovakia (2,167).
The smallest number of tourists – 1 each – came from the Bahamas, Botswana, Burundi, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Grenada, Timor-Leste, and Liberia.
2 tourists each arrived from Gambia, Zambia, Congo, Haiti, Jamaica, Madagascar, Mauritania, Namibia, Niger, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Suriname, and Fiji.
3 tourists each arrived in Armenia from Guinea, Honduras, Swaziland, and Togo.
At the same time, it is reported that 686,277 tourists left the country in the first half of 2026, compared to 748,331 in the same period of 2025 (a decline of 8.3%).
