YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. The TRIPP project envisions the restoration of the railway in Armenia and the creation of other transport and energy infrastructure in the region, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Speaking in Wiesbaden at the Hessian Peace Prize award ceremony, Pashinyan called TRIPP one of the important results of the Washington Peace Summit in August 2025 and announced that work is underway on its implementation.

"This project will open communications between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and vice versa," the Prime Minister stated.

According to him, TRIPP envisions the restoration of the railway in Armenia, as well as the construction of roads, pipelines, and power lines.

As Pashinyan noted, this infrastructure should serve not only domestic and regional traffic, but also international and transit traffic, creating new opportunities for connectivity in the East-West and North-South directions.

The Prime Minister also stated that the implementation of TRIPP will facilitate contacts and peaceful exchanges between the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan. "Such exchanges are no less important than signed and ratified documents or high-level meetings and agreements," he said.

Pashinyan noted that, in fact, since November 2025, the Azerbaijani railway has been open to Armenia through Georgia, and bilateral trade has already begun between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

About the TRIPP Project

TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) envisages the creation of a multimodal transit route through Armenia, including between the mainland of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

According to the framework agreement signed between Armenia and the United States, Armenia retains full sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction over all TRIPP implementation areas within its territory.

The agreement was signed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on June 1, 2026, in Washington, and by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on June 4 in Yerevan.
