Armenian Trade House may open in Belarus

YEREVAN, December 5, /ARKA/. The possibility of establishing an Armenian trade house in Belarus was discussed by Belarusian Minister of Anti-Monopoly Regulation and Trade Alexei Bogdanov and Armenian Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan at a meeting in Minsk.
"All supermarkets in Armenia sell Belarusian products. We want to see more Belarusian products on our shelves. But it's also important for us to develop our own companies. For our part, we can offer food and alcoholic beverages," Belarusian news agency BELTA news agency quoted Kerobyan as saying.
According to Kerobyan, Armenia is interested in developing cooperation with Belarus in mechanical engineering, construction industry, food supplies, as well as the financial sector.
"This year the trade turnover between our countries has doubled, but my colleagues and I are sure that this is only the beginning. Our countries have great potential for growth in various areas. We are in the same economic customs zone, so the relations between Belarus and Armenia will significantly improve the economy of the two countries. Certainly, we will have to make certain efforts to attain that goal,' Kerobyan said.
The Armenian delegation visited Minsk in early December.
According to Armenia's National Statistical Committee, the country's trade with Belarus in January-September 2022 more than doubled from the first 9 months of 2021 to $128.5 million. -0--
