SCR put another railway bridge into operation

YEREVAN, October 26. /ARKA/. South Caucasus Railway company said Friday it had set a traffic the other day on the railway bridge on the 2,636th km of Shahali-Tumanyan span (Lori region).
The bridge, popularly known as "Satani Kamurj" (The bridge of devil), was built in 1889. Its length is 44 meters, height - 14-18 meters.
Reconstruction of the bridge has been carried out since March 2012 as a part of the company's investment program for reconstruction and rehabilitation of railway engineering structures. The cost of the construction works was estimated at 250 million drams.
Following its policy to support the Armenian business, CJSC “SCR” selected “Kamurhshin as the contractor for repairing the Armenian bridge. In its activity, the company applied to the new technologies, such as hydraulic jack instead of the previously used crane.
By the end of 2012 the company also plans to open a two-span bridge on the 2626th km of Tumanyan-Kober span (Lori).
This April CJSC "SCR" has put into operation the bridge over the gorge Zamanlu with a length of 216.86 meters and a height of 42.89 meters.
The company continuous its extensive work to improve the traffic infrastructure, speed and capacity of the traffic volumes.—0--
