YEREVAN, September 1. /ARKA/. The new aircraft acquired recently by Armenian Taron Avia airline  made the first landing on August 31 at Shirak airport in Armenia’s second-largest town of  Gyumri, the Main Civil Aviation Department of Armenia said today. The aircraft is named Aram Khachaturian, after the famous Armenian composer.

"This is very good news for all of us. It means that the Shirak airport is developing and the work is being done in the right direction. The number of people traveling by air is on the rise," the head of the department Sergey Avetisyan said.

Taron Avia is the second Armenian air carrier (the first is called Armenia). It operates flights from Gyumri to Russian Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Krasnodar. -0-
