Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgolami hopes that Armenia will have its own oil refinery.
YEREVAN, July 8. /ARKA/. Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgolami expects Armenia will have its own oil refinery.
"At such a refinery, Armenia will be able to refine Iranian crude oil and produce petroleum products for both the domestic market and export," Shirgolami noted at a press conference on Wednesday.
Speaking about free economic zones (FEZs), the ambassador stated that strengthening ties between Iran's Aras FEZ and Armenia's Meghri FEZ will create new prospects for economic development.
Regarding transit, he noted that the opening of a railway from Jolfa to the Black Sea will also provide Armenia with additional economic opportunities.
The ambassador emphasized that untapped potential remains in virtually all areas, which could open up new prospects for cooperation between Armenia and Iran.
