Armenia should pursue global goals to transform into financial center

On Tuesday, Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan, speaking in Novosti International Press Center, said Armenia should think comprehensively and pursue global goals to develop into financial center.

YEREVAN, July 8. /ARKA/. On Tuesday, Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan, speaking in Novosti International Press Center, said Armenia should think comprehensively and pursue global goals to develop into financial center.

He pointed out the necessity to use capacity of Armenian communities overseas and attract investments from the outside as top-priority objective on this way.

He said that it is impossible to attract financial means of our compatriots to Armenia without the instruments Armenian communities use. The minister said that Armenia has far better administrative capacity than neighboring countries.

“Armenia enjoys advantage of high-qualified managers and asset-running specialists, which will upgrade effectiveness of utilization of investments”, he said.

Yeritsyan also said that another advantage is skills and comprehensive mentality of Armenian specialists.
In his opinion, nowadays, when mobile financial means dominates financial market, logistical solutions are needed.

Earlier Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsian suggested the following six directions where Armenia’s comparative advantages should be revealed for transforming the country into a regional financial center – transaction services, deposits on bonds and securities issued by organizations in the region, investments and asset management funds, Islamic financial services, implementation of active financial reforms in the territory of Armenia and offering financial services to Armenians all over the world. –0--
