Armenian agriculture minister pledges support to Karabakhi authorities

Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan spent May 20 and 21 in Nagorno-Karabakh pledging support to its authorities in introducing innovations into local agriculture, the press service of the Armenian ministry reported.
YEREVAN, May 24. /ARKA/. Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan spent May 20 and 21 in Nagorno-Karabakh pledging support to its authorities in introducing innovations into local agriculture, the press service of the Armenian ministry reported.

It said that the minister met with his opposite number,Armo Tsaturyan in Stepanakert to discuss a variety of issues related to introduction of up-to-date technologies in the agriculture sector and development of domestic agricultural industry.

“We should make every effort to promote introduction of new technologies in Karabakh and use Karabakh’s experience in cattle breeding, agricultural machinery stations and canneries in Armenia,” Karapetyan said.

He also stressed the importance of close ties between the two republic’s agricultural ministries. He said these ties will help the ministries to find solutions to some problems and ways out of difficult situations by joint efforts.

The Armenian agriculture minister also met with Karabakhi President Bako Sahakyan and Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan.

He toured the agriculture-supporting fund, a new veterinary laboratory that is under construction now, Artsakhfruit cannery, a pedigree cattle-breeding farm and a machinery station as part of his visit to Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. -0-
