Armenia plans to expand rose exports to the EU market – Papoyan
YEREVAN, May 21. /ARKA/. The Armenian government is discussing mechanisms to support the export of locally produced roses to the EU market, announced RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.

"Products grown in greenhouses using modern technologies are already being sold at auctions in the Netherlands. This means we can already ensure quality comparable to the best Dutch roses," Papoyan said at a briefing on Thursday.

According to him, the quality of flowers produced in modern greenhouses in Armenia meets high international standards and can be competitive in the European market.

Papoyan noted that the government is discussing a number of support mechanisms with businesses, including compensation for transportation costs and expenses related to intellectual property rights.

The minister explained that when exporting flowers to EU countries, copyrights for the relevant varieties must also be paid.
