Armenia needs to conduct a new survey of its subsoil resources in collaboration with international partners: Prime Minister
YEREVAN, October 17. /ARKA/. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has stated that it is necessary to re-examine the country’s subsoil resources, working alongside international partners.

"In the near future, we must together with our international partners re-examine our subsoil resources to understand what additional opportunities may exist. And it is clear that such opportunities do exist," Pashinyan said while speaking at the Mining Armenia Forum 2026 in Tsaghkadzor.

According to the Prime Minister, the exploitation of mineral deposits offers significant potential for economic development, and the time has come to launch a new phase of geological exploration across Armenia.

"It is also evident that, in terms of scale, metallic mineral deposits are attracting increasing attention; however, the exploitation of non-metallic mineral resources is equally relevant. This, too, is an area where we need to conduct further research," Pashinyan noted.

The Mining Armenia Forum 2026 is being held under the theme "From Resources to Opportunities." The event is organized by the "Mining Forum" Development Foundation and the Armenian Mining and Metallurgy Association.
