YEREVAN, January 9. /ARKA/. Armenia's Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan answered a question about whether a pension increase is expected.

"I sincerely don't understand the point of the question. If the goal is for our citizens to receive a lot of money, what difference does it make how pensions are increased?" Torosyan asked.

He presented mechanisms that, in his words, are beneficial to both beneficiaries and the state (a 20% cashback on pensioner card purchases, a 2% cashback for all ArCa cardholders, and a monthly state payment of 10,800 drams for enrolling pensioners in the universal health insurance system).

"We are paying tens of billions in cashback, which is essentially an increase in an innovative form," Torosyan said, refusing to provide precise figures.
