YEREVAN, June 23. /ARKA/. Airbus Helicopters and the Republic of Armenia have signed a contract for the purchase of six H145 helicopters, Airbus announced.

The agreement, finalized during French President Emmanuel Macron's official state visit to Yerevan, recently entered into force. Airbus called this an important milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between France and Armenia.

The multi-role H145 helicopters will be used for transport missions. According to the company, this is Armenia's first contract with Airbus Helicopters, which will modernize the country's helicopter fleet. The contract amount was not disclosed in a statement published on the aviation giant's website.

"We are honored to officially welcome the Republic of Armenia to the Airbus Helicopters family." “This first contract is a testament to the growing partnership between our company and Armenia, and we are proud to support the country in modernizing its aviation capabilities,” said Ludovic Boisto, Vice President, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus, Airbus Helicopters.

According to him, the H145 is a proven workhorse that will provide the Armenian authorities with flexibility and reliability for their transport missions.

Airbus noted that the H145 is highly productive, including at high altitudes and in hot climates. The five-blade version of the H145 offers increased payload, a smoother ride, and simplified maintenance.

According to the company, more than 1,800 H145 family helicopters are in service, with a combined flight time of over 8.5 million hours. The H145 is equipped with two Safran Arriel 2E engines, a Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system, and a Helionix digital avionics suite.

It includes a high-performance four-axis autopilot, enhancing safety and reducing pilot workload. Thanks to its exceptionally low noise levels, the H145 is considered the quietest helicopter in its class, and its CO₂ emissions are among the lowest among its competitors.
