Armenian government allocates over 2 billion drams for subvention programs in the regions

YEREVAN, March 27. /ARКА/. At a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved the allocation of 2 billion 15 million drams for the implementation of subvention programs in the regions of the country.
“It is proposed to co-finance about 23 programs across 17 communities,” said Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, David Khudatyan, during the meeting.
Among these are one program in Aragatsotn region for 240 million drams, in Armavir region for 113 million drams, in Kotayk region for 54 million drams, in Syunik region for 7.6 million drams, two programs in Ararat region totaling 370 million drams, 7 programs in Gegharkunik region for 1 billion 85 million drams, 4 programs in Shirak region for 156 million drams, and in Tavush for 127 million drams.
As part of a package related to road construction and capital investments, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan added that programs worth about 15 billion drams are planned to be financed. "These programs are at various stages of implementation: some are already in the final stage, others are in progress, and for some, design work is still pending," Pashinyan said, clarifying that these programs are not related to subvention financing.
Khudatyan also reported that work on two transport infrastructure projects began in 2024 and is expected to be completed this year. Additionally, it is planned to repair 500 km of roads, with around 280 km undergoing major repairs and the remainder receiving medium repairs. ($1 = 391.80 drams).
