YEREVAN, February 12. /ARKA/. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received today a delegation, led by Vice President of the international financial organization DEG Irina Schmidt, the press office of the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Grigoryan was quoted as saying that the organization’s participation in the development of Armenia's private sector is important in terms of introduction of modern business rules and increasing transparency. During the meeting, the sides looked into ways to help build a full-fledged capital market in Armenia, which they said will  contribute to the activation of domestic and foreign investments.

The parties also touched upon the opportunities and prospects for the implementation of energy efficiency and high technology projects in Armenia.

The Deputy Prime Minister assured that the country has created all the conditions for the effective work of financial institutions, as evidenced by macroeconomic indicators and assessments of reputable international rating companies.

Fitch Ratings Agency has upgraded Armenia's Long-term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to "BB-" from "B +", the forecast  is "Stable". Fitch explained the upgrade by the commitment of the authorities to a stable agenda in the field of macroeconomic policy and the implementation of structural reforms, including the fight against corruption and monopolies, strengthening institutions and governance.

Also, Moody's Investors Service has upgraded the sovereign rating of Armenia from B1 to Ba3, the forecast was changed to "Stable". The decision is due to the increased stability of the Armenian economy and the stabilization of macroeconomic policies. According to the agency, Armenia is showing steady progress in the fight against corruption. -0-
