Armenian-Polish trade turnover may show a four-fold growth and reach $200 million, Poland’s ambassador to Armenia Ezhi Novakovski said at the Armenian-Polish business forum in Yerevan.

YEREVAN, June 26. /ARKA/. Armenian-Polish trade turnover may show a four-fold growth and reach $200 million, Poland’s ambassador to Armenia Ezhi Novakovski said at the Armenian-Polish business forum in Yerevan.

Today the economic cooperation between the two countries is crippling a little, but efforts of Armenia’s Trade and Industry Chamber inspires hopes that the situation can be improved, Novakovski said pointing to the great potential for that.

The aim of the Polish diplomatic mission in Armenia is to facilitate the economic cooperation between the countries, the ambassador said.

“I had the chance to meet with the president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and government members, and we came to a shared view. I believe that the two countries’ organizations dealing with trade and logistics have the required basis for establishing cooperation,” Novakovski said.

The ambassador said he would make all efforts to intensify the bilateral cooperation during his mission in Armenia.

Vice-president of Armenia’s Trade and Industry Chamber Aram Vardanyan said that Armenia-Poland economic links were established since long ago pointing to close ties between the countries back in Soviet times.

Vardanyan stressed the importance of trade and industry chambers of the two countries operating efficiently.

There are several Polish market sectors that are still free, particularly anti-hail stations and bioenergy.

“The most important is that our production is unique and almost three times as cheap as analogues, Vardanyan said pointing to aluminum foil being currently exported to Poland.

During the forum Armenian and Polish businessmen will discuss cooperation prospects in pharmaceuticals, real estate, construction, transport, and etc.

Trade turnover between Poland and Armenia amounted to $44.2 million in 2013 and was $22.5 million in the first half of 2014. –0—
