Economic activity in Armenia ups 3.9%

Armenia's economic activity index rose 3.9% in Jan-Aug 2015, compared with the same period a year before, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.
YEREVAN, September 22. /ARKA/. Armenia's economic activity index rose 3.9% in Jan-Aug 2015, compared with the same period a year before, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.
Consumer prices rose 4.8% and prices for industrial products went 0.4% up in Armenia in Jan-Aug 2015, compared with the same period a year earlier.
According to the statistical report, industrial products worth AMD 827.9 billion were released in the country over the mentioned period – 4.4% year-on-year growth.
Agriculture output amounted to AMD 504.9 billion showing a 13.5% year-on-year growth.
Construction sector accounted for AMD 211 billion and a 0.2% year-on-year growth in Jan-August 2015.
Domestic trade turnover fell 5.4% to AMD 1 409.7 billion, while services grew 2.2% to AMD 742.6 billion.
The country's foreign trade shrank 19.5% to $3 041.5 million.
In the government budget for 2015, GDP growth is projected at 4.1%. ---0----
