EEU member states lack unified approach to building common energy market - Pashinyan

YEREVAN, February 2. /ARKA/. Although the EEU member states plan to create common markets for natural gas, oil and oil products by 2025, it is currently obvious that there is a lack of a clear-cut single approach of the member states to the prospects of creating and developing a common energy market," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Armenia assumed on January 1, 2024 the 12-month rotating presidency of the organization, which also includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

"I am confident that for all EEU member states without exception, the creation of a common energy market will provide a number of key advantages, contributing to the sustainable development of economies, improving the welfare of the population, as well as strengthening energy security," Pashinyan said.

In his opinion, the dialog between the EEU countries should be aimed at finding compromise agreements. --0--
