YEREVAN, January 19. /ARKA/. The overall freight traffic volume in Armenia from January to November 2025 reached 15,654,000 tons, marking a 2.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

In contrast, total passenger traffic was recorded at 218,677,500 individuals, reflecting a 2.3% decrease. This information was provided by the Statistical Committeeя

Freight Transportation

In the initial 11 months of 2025, a total of 12,311.9 thousand tons of freight was transported by road (a 0.9% increase from the same timeframe in 2024), 1,663.5 thousand tons via trunk pipelines (a 2.1% decrease), 1,640.8 thousand tons by rail (a significant 23.5% increase), and 37.8 thousand tons by air (a 1.9% increase).

The freight turnover for this reporting period was 3,623.0 million ton-km, which is a 2.2% decrease compared to the previous year. Specifically, freight turnover through main pipeline transport was 2,628.6 million ton-km (a 2.1% decline), road transport accounted for 1,028.4 million ton-km (a 10.6% decline), rail transport contributed 428.2 million ton-km (an increase of 22.4%), and air transport reached 19.7 million ton-km (an increase of 79.1%).

Passenger Transportation

From January to November 2025, 185,931.5 thousand passengers utilized road transport (a slight decrease of 0.1%), 26,962.8 thousand used electric transport (a significant drop of 16.1%), 5,309.7 thousand traveled by air (an increase of 6.5%), and 473.5 thousand passengers opted for rail transport (a decrease of 9.8%).

The passenger turnover for the 2025 reporting period was 4,261.6 million passenger-km, reflecting a 0.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Passenger turnover via road transport was 2,543.9 million passenger-km (a 5.3% increase), air transport accounted for 1,556.1 million passenger-km (a 5.4% decrease), electric transport saw 105.4 million passenger-km (a 17.9% decrease), and rail transport recorded 56.2 million passenger-km (a 6.6% decrease).

Road Accidents

In the first 11 months of 2025, 4,465 road accidents occurred in Armenia, a 13.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

In these accidents, 262 people were killed, a 12.1% decrease, and 6,605 people were injured, an 18.6% increase.

Postal and Courier Services

From January to November 2025, revenue from postal and courier services in Armenia reached 19,129.8 million drams, a 4.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024 (at an exchange rate of 1 US dollar = 378.89 drams).-0-
