“Gazprom” to provide Armenia with 107 million cubic meters of operational gas reserve

YEREVAN, April 24. /ARКА/. Gazprom will create an operational gas reserve in underground storage facilities in Russia, Armenia and Belarus for the 2025-2026 heating season.
In Armenia, the operational reserve will amount to 107 million cubic meters, the holding said in a statement after a meeting of the board, which reviewed the results of the group's work in the autumn-winter period of 2024/2025 and the measures necessary to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to consumers in the upcoming autumn-winter period.
In Armenia, Gazprom Armenia CJSC, a 100% subsidiary of Gazprom PJSC, is a monopoly supplier of natural gas from Russia to Armenia (for domestic consumption), transiting through the territory of Georgia. The price of Russian gas for Armenia (at the border) from 2022 is $ 165 per 1,000 cubic meters.
In the city of Abovyan, there is an underground gas storage station (UGSS), designed to equalize the annual (seasonal) unevenness of gas consumption in the Republic of Armenia, as well as to provide consumers with natural gas in the event of gas supply restrictions (emergencies, scheduled repairs).
