Armenia and Iran discussed the construction of a power transmission line, a second bridge, and the development of a border crossing

Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan and Iranian Vice President and Head of the Planning and Budget Organization Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi discussed the development of bilateral economic and infrastructure cooperation.
YEREVAN, July 26. /ARKA/. Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan and Iranian Vice President and Head of the Planning and Budget Organization Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi discussed the development of bilateral economic and infrastructure cooperation.
The meeting took place on July 25 in Tehran.
According to IRNA, Pourmohammadi stated the need to consolidate previously reached agreements into a coordinated plan. Among the priority areas, he named expanding trade relations, developing the Norduz border crossing, constructing a second bridge, resolving the issue of road tolls, and accelerating the completion of the third power transmission line between Armenia and Iran.
He stated that the transfer of the co-chairmanship of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission to the Planning and Budget Organization demonstrates the importance Tehran attaches to relations with Armenia.
Pourmohammadi also noted the organization's readiness to assist in resolving issues arising during the implementation of joint projects. He emphasized the need to hold the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission in the near future.
The Iranian Vice President called Armenia one of the country's important neighbors and stated that there are opportunities to expand cooperation in various economic sectors.
Khudatyan, in turn, praised the progress of joint projects and confirmed the Armenian side's readiness to develop relations with Iran in various areas.
The minister also proposed taking measures to expedite and simplify the implementation of the third Armenia-Iran power transmission line project.
During the meeting, Pourmohammadi thanked the Armenian side for its position regarding the recent events in Iran, as well as for the participation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the mourning ceremony.
