Papoyan named three destinations where Armenia's exports grew by 80% or more

Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan reported an increase in Armenia's exports to China, India, and the European Union.
YEREVAN, July 26. /ARKA/. Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan reported an increase in Armenia's exports to China, India, and the European Union.
"In January-June 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, Armenia's exports to China increased by 83.4%, to India by 81.3%, and to the European Union by 80%," the minister wrote on Facebook.
According to the latest data from the Armenian State Statistics Service for January-May 2026, Armenia's foreign and mutual trade volume amounted to $7.864 billion, a decrease of 0.1% compared to the same period in 2025.
Armenia's exports from January to May 2026 amounted to $2.865 billion (a 3.7% decline), while imports amounted to $4.999 billion (an increase of 2.2%).
Armenia's largest export markets for this period were: Russia — $1.031 billion (a 3% decline); China — $407.5 million (an increase of 93.3%); and the UAE — $229.2 million (a decrease of 73.4%).
Exports to the EU amounted to $460.6 million (an increase of 92.7%), while exports to the EAEU amounted to $1.107 billion (a decrease of 3.8%).
Largest importers for the first five months of 2026 were: Russia — $1.224 billion (a decrease of 30.6%); China — $553.8 million (an increase of 4.7%); Georgia — $354.4 million (up 25.6%).
Imports from EU countries from January to May amounted to $1.009 billion (up 25.9%), while imports from EAEU countries amounted to $1.301 billion (down 28%).
